Our founder, Vernon Wood once told me that financial success is like taking a cruise on an ocean liner.  You may be planning to sail to a certain destination, but would it be reasonable to expect to cross great oceans and arrive safely without checking your position regularly, accounting for winds and currents as you go and making adjustments? Of course not.  The same goes for financial success.  You need a plan, you need to periodically review the plan, and your plan needs to be agile enough to weather unforeseen circumstances that undoubtedly will occur during the voyage.
